Fuel Cells
Sourcebook

More than 3,000 organizations throughout the world are now actively involved in fuel cell development, prompted by fast-growing interest in the sector. Recent years have seen technology developers and research institutes joined by mainstream equipment manufacturers, energy companies and automotive giants, together with a host of specialist suppliers. All are eager to be in at the start of one of the most exciting of 21st century energy businesses. More than $7bn has now been spent; a further $2-3bn has been firmly committed; and over $10bn conditionally assigned to the task of bringing fuel cells to the marketplace.

Based on ten man-years’ work, Fuel Cells: The Sourcebook aims to be the leading reference source within this important sector. The latest edition, updated within the past few weeks, provides valuable guidance for those wishing to know more about fuel cell concepts, applications and markets, and is a unique source of commercial and technical information on organizations in the sector.

The report provides a fundamental grounding in the basic concepts behind fuel cells; a description of the various fuel cell technologies, their major applications and the balance-of-plant features required for working systems; a regional analysis of activity; and reference sections concerned with organizations in the sector, their activities and products.

The main reference section lists more than 2,500 companies, research centers, institutes, universities, government agencies and other organizations at the forefront of the technology, with address, phone, fax and website details as available. Additional space is allocated to  more than 500 of these companies, for further information on contact points, a descriptive profile, and summary charts in which participants can detail their areas of interest: application sectors, technologies, activities, year established, employees, turnover and parent organization.

A Product Section enhances the usefulness of the book for those wishing to find details of the rapidly expanding range of materials, components, sub-systems, test equipment, stack modules and complete fuel cell systems. A supplementary table facilitates like-for-like comparisons of fuel cell power sources

Printed and Electronic Formats

The printed report contains over 300 A4 pages (and costs about 25 cents per man-day committed to the project!). The latest version was updated within the past month. If you require further details, or if you would like to see an extract of the report, please contact fuelcells@escovale.com

An enhanced version of the report is available in electronic format on disc. This has 500 pages, together with additional information, including Excel files with data on thousands of organizations involved with fuel cells. Each CD-ROM is individually prepared to incorporate the latest material. The files are fully searchable to help users locate information on particular topics or organizations, with thousands of active links to participants’ websites and email addresses. The print facility is enabled, and the conditions of sale authorize the purchaser to print a single copy of the report for internal use without infringing copyright restrictions.
